Cyber Land Rush

I really did sell real estate for a few years. I would search the listing for interesting land to invest in, thinking I would find some gem. Unfortunately, the price of land on the west coast where I live was beyond my reach.
In 1996, I discovered domain names and invested in my first domain. I still own it. Fees were much higher then. I think $75 to register for 1 year. The registration process was difficult.
I was early. But pretty soon, it was like a land rush, people all over the world started scrambling to stake their claims on the cyber landscape. Companies started registering websites. Lots of people wanted their own website with their personal name. Once the easy, obvious names were gone, people started to come up with other great domains.
Good domain names are like good property which appreciates much like real estate.
